RE: damaged hair

According to Leonard Golino of the Leonard Golino Salon in NYC, "Four inches of re-growth is great and a huge step forward. However, there are a number of other options for improving the rest of the hair. First, in order to begin repairing the damaged hair, you need to stop using bleach. If you still want to lighten your hair, try to do it with color only, and avoid using bleach entirely. Second, you can add low-lights to connect the natural color at the top of the head to the lighter, colored ends at the bottom of the hair. Third, if lowlights can't be done, then use single-process color to bring all the hair back to its natural color and cut off the damaged hair at the bottom. Fourth, for styling purposes and day to day wear, use a combination of a leave-in conditioner and a light mousse to hold pieces the together without resulting in a crunchy texture."
